Hello!
Hi! I’m Ashley. I also get called Ash, Shash, & Shley. This site serves mostly to document my creative projects and lately that means quilting, garment sewing, collaging, filmmaking, photography, and printmaking. I love to make and I love to learn! I have thought about blogging for over a decade (wow) and as we all learned in season 5, episode 15 in the B story of the hit NBC television show 30 Rock where Pete and Frank start a band– it’s never too late for now. So! Here I am now, finally starting a blog. It’s never too late to start! I’m glad you’re here.
About The Name
Why did I choose the domain aperfectsandwich.com? You mean it’s not obvious? Perfectsandwich dot com was already taken by someone in California who has a patented container for keeping sandwiches un-soggy (huge if true, I’d like to have one) so A Perfect Sandwich is a good enough runner up. When you’re making a quilt, one of the steps is often referred to as making the quilt sandwich–layering your backing fabric, batting, and pieced top before quilting all three layers together. But to know me is to know that I also really love a good sandwich. I don’t make very many great sandwiches but I do love to know where all the good ones can be found. Please e-mail me if you know of perfect sandwiches in my area. I’m not joking, I really do want to know. So while this is mostly a what-I’ve-been-working-on blog you can probably expect the occasional sandwich content too. We contain multitudes and when we have our own website we can write about quilt sandwiches, delicious sandwiches and whatever else we want!!!
Where To Find Me
In case you want to follow my stuff elsewhere, I am currently not really elsewhere. I’m on Instagram, hopefully very infrequently, @aperfectsandwich. Follow my Pinterest too if you want? I use that a lot for inspiration these days.
I love feedback, comments, emails and questions as long as you never say anything mean ever; I’m sensitive and have cried at insurance commercials. Get in touch over at the contact page.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Ashley, February 2024
